That awkward moment when you walk into a youth activity and discover that you are old. You thought only 80 year olds could use the phrase, Back in My Day, but no. When you're discussing faith building activities and they say sometimes when they forget to pray they use an app on their phone and the 17 year old gets sassy and reminds everyone that she had to suffer through painful prayer rocks. Bless their hearts I miss the Young Women days #flashbackWednesday
It's transfer week ladies and gentleman. The week where everything is on the line. The week where it all blows up in everyones face's. The week where champion companionships are made. Ok that's enough drama. We should get a mysterious phone call from our leaders later that will let us know our fates but President said he would probably let me just
go back to Mt Vernon so nobody panic. It will all work out.
It's been a crazy 10 days since we last spoke. We will put the old saying "pictures speak more than 1,000 words" to the test. Except I'll give you 1,000 pictures and 1,000 words so we don't miss anything.
Here goes nothing:
1)Becky and the Gnomes
That could be a stellar band name right ๐๐ป anyway, Becky is still on
fire. She read 20 chapters of the Book of Mormon yesterday and is very
excited to pay tithing. She still loves church and will be baptized on
the 17th. She also has giant garden gnomes in her yard and we had a
photo shoot with them. We love her a lot ❤️
2)Zone Training Meeting Squad Life
We had a really fun wrap up meeting with our zone of missionaries on Wednesday. Our trio taught everyone about companionship unity and we made everyone give their companion a hug to show true love. It's a blessing to be able to serve with so many valiant young men and women here in the great Ohio land. This is our fun picture after the meeting ✌๐ป️❤️๐๐ผ
3)sometimes we have lunch dates with our fav sisters after meetings. Sister Vickery made us a DIVINE tater tot casserole and we had a great hour of laughing. These sisters make me smile every single day ๐
4)Temple Round 1
We took these lovely sisters on a tour of the temple grounds this week. Neither of them have ever seen a temple and they've both been members of the church for a little while. They loved the peace and love you can feel from God in his house ๐
5) Enduring to the end
This picture captures the best day of my entire life to date. This week I was reunited with some of my favorite people in my favorite place. Barbara was able to go through the temple and make even more promises with God. She was all dressed in white, she knew she is a daughter of God, and I felt a small piece of the joy that Heavenly Father feels every time we draw closer to him by making promises. It was a beautiful, peaceful day full of so many joyous reunions and so much love ❤️
6-8) we had a photo shoot after dinner on Sunday evening. The beautiful Makayla Powell is a genius with photography and captured all of these fun pics of our trio. Her testimony is so strong and I can't wait till she's all grown up and jumps on the missionary train as well. #FutureSisterPowell (She is the Last O in Ohio.)
9) this is my favorite photo I have so far on my mission. If there are any of you out there wondering what more can I do with my life or how can I be happy? I can promise the answer is serving the Lord.
Serving the Lord looks different for everyone. For me it was giving up time, talents, money and all of you for 18 months. For my grandparents it was moving to Zimbabwe for a few years to help missionaries like me there. For my parents it meant raising their children in the gospel. For my Return Missionary friends it means going to school to find eternal companions and prepare themselves to build up families. For all of you it can be different, but as long as you come to know the savior personally and work hard to make Him known, you will feel satisfied. The most important duty we have is to make His name known and help others come to Him. I have loved every single minute of my time here making Him known and I'm so excite for the last few months I get to spend continuing to teach about Him. Find a way to make his name known this week and he will stand beside you. I love you and I know He loves you ๐
