The Three Blind Mice

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,

If you put 3 sisters together in a tiny apartment with no washer or dryer, a Harry Potter cupboard under the stairs, a semi comfortable metal cot, and a living room that smells like cats and cigarettes most of the time what do you get? My new area, and life in Newark Ohio for
the next 3 weeks. I have officially made it to the big leagues. I am in a trio with Sister McDonald and Sister Parsons our Sister Training Leaders for the next 3 weeks. Depending on our state of being We like to call ourselves Peter, James and John, the three blind mice, the three amigos, the three stooges, or the three Nephites. The last week of my life has been pretty intense, but all is well that ends well and we can all get through hard things.

Newark is on fire and I haven't been able to breathe or sit down for the last five days. We have taught so many amazing people, I'll introduce you to some of my new friends;

-Shaun in getting baptized this Saturday. She is an amazingly strong woman who has fought so hard for the gospel over the last few years. She studies SOOOO much and has such a strong testimony of the truth. We have had a lot of fun planning and coordinating her baptism and it will be amazing. I've taught her before on exchanges with the Newark sisters so it's fun to be able to see the happy ending. Prayers would always be appreciated.

-Derek is an atheist who has been investigating the church for about 6 months now. He's really analytical but he's been loving the Book of Mormon so far. We had An amazing lesson with him last night that taught me so much about faith and he is soooo close to having a baptismal date. We are trying to get him to the baptism on Saturday so he cannot resist the spirit there.

-Cassy and Louis are our age, but they are raising an adorable family. We met them while contacting in an apartment complex on Saturday. We are going to teach them the full restoration tonight but she is soooo excited to come to church with us this Sunday. She has already demanded all her Sunday's off from work and is so excited to help her kids. They have an adorable baby ❤️

-Becky is so cute. She is 80 years old and can't hear a thing, but her step son is in our congregation. He is so excited to have his mum looking into the church. She loves reading the Book of Mormon, loved church with us on Sunday, and is preparing to be baptized on 9/24/16. Having lessons with her is like stepping into the 1960's and she is so
loud and so funny ❤️❤️

There are so many more, but I don't have time enough to tell all of their stories. We have a mission activity today so we can enjoy the beautiful Ohio weather and all of the other awesome missionaries.

The Funny highlight of the week was when we were talking about trio life and Sister Parsons said, "I think I discovered why a polygamy is not a thing anymore." She can't handle more than one companion πŸ˜‚ we really do have a lot of fun though. trio life is good and we are making the best of it. These sisters are rockstars and it's fun to learn from them ❤️

I'll leave you all with my favorite quote I discovered in personal study this week,

“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vine; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls.

“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

“The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet … to walk upon mine high places.” (Hab. 3:17–19.)

Our religion is “not weight, it is wings.” It can carry us through the dark times, the bitter cup. It will be with us in the fiery furnace and the deep pit. It will accompany us to the hospital room and to the
place of bereavement. It can guarantee us the presence of a Captain on the rough voyage. It is, in short, not the path to easy disposition of problems, but the comforting assurance of the eternal light, by which we may see, and the eternal warmth, which we may feel. “The Lord is good: Blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” (Ps. 34:8.) In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

This is a talk written about trusting in the Lord. Over the last 10 weeks I have learned how to truly trust in the Lord. I had an AMAZING companion who taught me that no matter what, it will all work out. We don't know how it will go down, we don't know what will happen, but because of the atonement of Jesus Christ we know it will all work out. Everything that is unfair about life can be made right through the atonement of Christ. We also don't have to wait until it all works out
to feel at peace. If we have hope, we will trust that it will all work out and work hard to find the joy in today! I have never been more physically and emotionally and spiritually exhausted in my life, but I
have never loved anything so much. I choose to chase away the dark with the light. And I choose to share that light with those around me every single day. I love you all, I hope everything is going well and you are all feeling the Hope of Gods light every single day!
