"When hard work, obedience, and unity collide- miracles happen" -Sister Lewis

YASSSSSSSSSS

That outburst describes our general state of being this week.  We have never worked so hard, We have never talked to so many people on the phone, We have never talked to so many people on the street,  We have never taught so many lessons, We have never knocked so many doors, We
have never been as tired, and We have never had so much fun as We did this week. I give all of the credit to the spirit who guided us, and Heavenly Father who kept our feet moving and brain running even when we were sure we were out of juice.

Updates on my people:
Sue is still great. She was SO grateful for the large print Bible and Book of Mormon we brought for her. We marked up scriptures that would help her overcome her addictions. During our visit we helped her learn how to really study the scriptures. We picked out a passage of the bible from Mark 5, and talked about the story of the woman with the issue of blood. We helped her see that the Atonement has the power to restore us physically not just spiritually. We read Alma 36 from the
Book of Mormon and talked about the amazing feelings we get from true repentance. She has a very strong testimony of our Savior and is excited to use scripture study, prayer, and whatever she can to
overcome her habits. We are dropping off a package tonight with some love to encourage her. We will also meet with her again on Sunday.

Rita is listening to the Book of Mormon on CD. She has loved some parts of it so far. She is getting a little bit caught up in the history of it, but we are trying to meet with her this week to read with her and help her pick out the spiritual truths. We are also trying to get a lunch set up with a member that lives here in Urbana, so we can take Rita to our chapel in Springfield and help her feel
more comfortable there, and get her to one of our services! She is very open minded and loves the Lord so how can you go wrong with that. We also found out her daughter has read the Book of Mormon before. We are excited to follow up with her as well.

Brad Craig. Once upon a time we got a random phone call from a member of the church who wanted to move to Urbana and wanted to meet us. He is big into missionary work, but he doesn't love coming to church himself. We had an hour long conversation with him about his previous life, his love interest teacher friend he wanted us teach (so he can marry her in the temple)  in Urbana, and her cats. He gave us tips on missionary work, and worked hard to find us community service opportunities. Then he mysteriously disappeared. He texted us occasionally. And then. On Tuesday. WE FINALLY MET BRAD CRAIG. He randomly happened upon us last week while he was out driving around Urbana. He was visiting his friend Anita, and we got to meet her as well. It was fun to finally put a name to the face, and later on in the week we met with Anita and we are going to talk with her on Wednesday about the church and the Book of Mormon.

Also We found a new person! His name is Yuroslav. He moved to Indiana from Russia when he was 9 and is now in his 20's. We knocked on his door on Saturday and he let us meet with him last night. We had an awesome spiritual meeting. At first we tried to teach him a lot about
the history of Jesus Christ's church, but after talking for about 15 minutes we realized he had very little concept of God. We spent the rest of the time explaining that God is our Heavenly Father, and
taught him how to pray. The spirit was there and he promised to say his prayers his week. We are excited to follow up with him this weekend. He is awesome!

Michelle, one of our most stalwart investigators is starting her baptismal interview process this Sunday. Prayers would be appreciated for her, she has a long road, but we know she can make it through God's grace.

Other highlights of the week included Stake Conference. We were invited to attend the Saturday Adult Session sand we heard some amazing talks. Some of my favorite quotes were;
-We become obedient one moment and one temptation at a time.
-If they don't learn it at home, they will learn it on google.
-What evidence have you seen that God knows you? How has the knowledge that he knows and             loves you changed your life?

It was an uplifting meeting, we got to sit by members of our ward that I love, I was next to a companion that I love, all the other missionaries that I love were there, and I was filled with the spirit
of love. #ThePerfectSpace

Also, WE GOT A MINI MISSIONARY. Translation; we have another companion for 7 days. Sister Mars is a young lady who lives in Columbus who wanted to see what missionary life is like. She gets to live, teach, eat, visit, and study with us for a week. She's a trooper and we have loved having her along.

Thought of the week comes from another one of our amazing meetings last month. Elder Zavallos, a general authority in the church, came to teach us for a few hours. He told a story of climbing mountains near his home. His son begged him to climb the hill behind their house. One Saturday, Elder Zavalllos agreed to make the climb and they trekked up the hill. He said it was very steep, and only worth the climb because of the view of the ocean and coast of South America near their home
they got. At the top of the big hill his son made another discovery. There was an even bigger mountain behind the hill they could climb. They hadn't seen it from the top of their house, because the hill blocked their view, it was only when they climbed higher that they saw how much higher they had the potential to go. It was hard, and more work but eventually they made it up the mountain as well. (See the artistic visual aid for complete understanding)

Our lives are like this as well. We see mountains we have to climb everyday. As we grow stronger and climb higher, we find even more places we can go than we thought. This week has been cool to look back at how far I have come. How hi I have climbed, at the same time, I know I still have many mountains to climb.  The one thing that should keep us climbing is our love for the Savior. He visited the depths of every valley, and the summit every mountain for us when he laid down his life for us. He knows us, and he knows exactly what we need to keep us going. As we climb with him, he will lift us higher than we could ever imagine at the bottom of the hill. Here's a quote from President Dieter F Uchtdorf about what's waiting for us at the top of the Mountains,

"The joyous news of the gospel is this: because of the eternal plan of happiness provided by our loving Heavenly Father and through the infinite sacrifice of Jesus the Christ, we can not only be redeemed from our fallen state and restored to purity, but we can also transcend mortal imagination and become heirs of eternal life and partakers of God’s indescribable glory."
(He will Place You on His Shoulders and Carry you Home, April 2016)

Climb them mountains!

I love you all, keep your heads up, wear your seat belts, and read them scriptures Everyday Everyday EVERYDAY!
