All is Well, All is Well

Guys! It's May! What happened to the first half of the year? How is life going by so fast? Beats me!

This week the dynamic trio was reduced to a dynamic duo. Sister Davis done did the mission thing. She has reportedly made it home, and is probably not even awkward. She's definitely a superstar, and we expect great things from that one. It's been a long 3 days adjusting to companionship life once again and mourning the (mission) death of our third amigo but we actually managed to kick this week's butt goal wise. We taught a bunch of lessons, picked up a few new investigators,
and even got invited back into people's homes #miracleshappen

This week we taught DJ and Jennifer the restoration. DJ was pretty quiet but he was very intrigued by Joseph Smith's story. Jennifer has been religious for most of her life but has a serious problem with church attendance. They both loved the idea of the Book of Mormon and we're excited to read it. We plan on tackling their church attendance this week. I am grateful for the chance to work with  people like them and excited to see what they do with the spiritual truths we taught
them.

The Spiritual thought this week comes from my morning musings. Every morning we wake up before 6:30 and start the day off by exercising. Any of my companions will testify to the fact that 6:30 AM is not the best time for Sister Reynolds to exercise. Usually for the first 20 minutes of our walk I will have a blank stare that resembles a fowl glare or grimace depending on the intensity of the aching in my bones that morning. I have been working on my morning attitude ever since
Sister Williams mentioned she was really scared to talk to me in the mornings because I looked like I wanted to punch her 😱 Now I try and focus on putting happy hymns in my mind to keep things a little more upbeat. This week I though a lot about my favorite Hymn from our hymn book, Come Come Ye Saints.  First a bit of history for everyone,

"Musician William Clayton, who was in the first pioneer company to enter the Salt Lake Valley, wrote the words to the hymn “Come, Come, Ye Saints” while camped on the plains of Iowa. With many miles ahead of them, the company had already experienced storms, sickness, and broken wagons. To add to these difficulties, William was concerned
about his wife Diantha, who had remained in Nauvoo because she was expecting her first child. On April 15, 1846, William received news that Diantha had given birth to a healthy baby boy. The words of this hymn tell of hardship as well as joy, reflecting Clayton’s feelings as he received the happy news. He recorded in his journal, “This morning I composed a new song—‘All Is Well.’ I feel to thank my heavenly father for my boy and pray that he will spare and preserve his life and that of his mother and so order it so that we may soon meet again.”

My favorite verse of the hymn is the second verse,

Why should we mourn or think our lot is hard?
'Tis not so; all is right.
Why should we think to earn a great reward
If we now shun the fight?
Gird up your loins; fresh courage take.
Our God will never us forsake;
And soon we’ll have this tale to tell—
All is well! All is well!

We all go through trials. We all make mistakes. We all have bumps in the road. We all slam into brick walls. The trick is not letting these trials define us, but letting our reactions to these trials be the positive defining moments of our lives. We shouldn't mourn, or have pity parties. We should rejoice in the opportunities we have to grow! Heavenly Father has promised us he will NEVER give us more than we can handle, and even if he lets us bend and stretch he will NEVER forsake us and let us break. I've seen a lot of people who have taken this philosophy to heart in my life and I. Grateful for their examples of faith and strength. I know that we can do all things through Christ and I am grateful for the gospel which can turn any dark day around. I know that as we look for Gods hand we will see it in every detail of our lives. I am grateful to be able to be here in Ohio doing His work.

I love you all and hope you have your mums a huge hug! Until next
Monday ✌🏻️❤️😎

✌🏻️Sister Reynolds✌🏻️

One day we will be reunited for more fairly wild dance parties
so we bought a dozen doughnuts from a local doughnut shop to drown our sorrows, and then the member who gave us a ride to drop off Sis Davis took us to get Amish Doughnuts, and we ended up with too many doughnuts. These pictures represent the stages of our emotions when we realized exactly how many donuts we had access to this week...
