Sooooooooooooooooooooo,
Dearest friends and family members, remember when I told you I was being shipped out of Grove City...
Well after a 6:30 AM wake up call from our mission president, a lot of packing, a lot of unpacking, an eventful transfer meeting, some very heartfelt testimonies from missionaries I LOVE leaving, being in a trio for a day, another evening full of packing, and a weird trip to the mission home I don't even know how I feel about yet, we are back on this same shore having this same conversation. Translation; after many fervent prayers and much stress the dear Sister Williams has returned home to California. Sister Chadwick (from Logan Utah, 4 months old) has joined me in Scioto and we will be here together to conquer Grove City for the next 7 weeks.
Yup.
It's weird, I'm still wrapping my head around it.
BUT alas, I am excited! We get to spend Christmas with the Gimmeson family (they are my favorite), and they have promised to make it one to remember! We have also started a fresh new push here in Scioto. We are starting fresh with a pretty blank slate and working hard to take what we both have learned about missionary work and produce a booming area full of people who want to learn about the Gospel Of Jesus Christ and be baptized. Sister Chadwick is really fun, we laugh a lot and we know how to get stuff done. We are getting organized, spreading Christmas cheer, and just enjoying life as missionaries.
Also, Christmas Eve marks my 6 month on my mission. In light of that and other recent events I have done a lot of reflection on the craziness that is mission life. Here are some things I've learned:
-the secret to being a Sister Missionary in the cold, fleece lined leggings
-cleanliness really is godliness and good for the soul
-The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. Every word in every verse is written to the convincing of everyone that Christ was born so we could conquer sin and death. He was born to bring happiness and love in a world full of hate. If you read it, you will come to know Christ and you will find that peace he offers us!
-everybody needs a little love
-Hugs from people you love can get you through so much
-people are full of crazy stories
-motivation follows action sometimes
-there is a time and a season for everything
-the Holy Ghost is the most honest companion you will ever have
-people respect diligence and dedication
-Diligence and dedication are the secret to happiness
-just do it, RIGHT NOW
-The Lord walks with us, he carries, us, he loves us, and sometimes he is the only one in a position to lift us up. We just have to learn of him, follow him, and let him.
Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope all of you are surrounded by people you love and filled with the Spirit of Christmas!! Look for ways to help those around you find that joy as well. LOVE YA!!
