Sometimes I wonder...

Life is moving forward. This week I've had what I now call post
transfer brain for awhile. Transfers happened. Sister Corbett was so
good at training that she gets to be a Sister Training Leader over our
whole zone now! She's a champ, she's killing it in the Marble Cliff
area right above me so life is good. My follow up trainer is Sister
Morgan. She's from Montana (Yay for a Mormon not from Utah)! The best
way to explain our situation is comparing it to that really awkward
time first time you went driving with a drivers Ed teacher in High
School. Heavenly Father handed me the keys to our area (figuratively
and literally) and sent me out with one of the instructors to drive us
around and hopefully not kill us. It's been sort of an awkward drive
so far because my instructor doesn't know where we are going/who we
are teaching most of the time but she has been a champ so far given
the circumstances. It's weird being the junior missionary who hasn't
even finished training, but basically being in charge of the area.
We're working together to help her get to know the area more so
hopefully our drives will get significantly less awkward and we'll
work up to becoming a powerhouse companionship. Sister Morgan and I
are very different but we have been making our missionary work go well
so far so life is good. I know I have a lot to learn from her, and I'm
excited to get some good work done here in our area!

BARBARA IS GETTING BAPTIZED THIS SATURDAY!!!!!! Don't worry, I'm just
a lot excited
see her change so much in the short amount of time that I have known
her. She's a gem. It's going to be a great day! Tia is so close
to being on date. Sister Corbett and I had a killer lesson with her
last week, the sprit was so strong and we are sooooooo close to
resolving her concerns about baptism. Hopefully we can help her to
feel that same spirit again this week!

Since I challenged you all to be still and find God in your lives last
week I thought I'd list some times I have seen God in my life this
week, because there have been Soooooo many. Heavenly father kept
Sister Corbett close. I still get to work with her and learn from her
sageness, and she gets to help even more Sister Missionaries in our
zone with her mad skills. He also gave me a new cool companion. Also
Sister Lonnecker, my MTC companion, mysteriously made it to the
transfer meeting even though she wasn't being transferred and I got a
hug from her right when if felt like freaking out and bursting into
tears. That was a small and simple yet powerful blessing. I have not
crashed the mission car yet, and Stewart, our watch dog buddy in our
car, has only yelled at me twice for speeding. My brain has
mysteriously been able to remember a lot more than I have ever known
about my area so I can plan our days and help sister Morgan get to
know people. Sister Morgan brought a guitar along so I've been able to
play the piano and the guitar lately. Did I mention, BARBARA IS
GETTING BAPTIZED!!! We get to go to the temple in September again. And
the list could go on forever...

I've found a lot of powerful scriptures and quotes this week. My
favorites included
"Your spirituality is not stagnant and neither are your covenants."
-Elder Neal Anderson

Every day find something you can do to grow closer to God.

And Alma 17:11-13
11 And the Lord said unto them also: Go forth among the Lamanites, thy
brethren, and establish my word; yet ye shall be patient in
long-suffering and afflictions, that ye may show forth good examples
unto them in me, and I will make an instrument of thee in my hands
unto the salvation of many souls.
12 And it came to pass that the hearts of the sons of Mosiah, and also
those who were with them, took courage to go forth unto the Lamanites
to declare unto them the word of God.
13 And it came to pass when they had arrived in the borders of the
land of the Lamanites, that they separated themselves and departed one
from another, trusting in the Lord that they should meet again at the
close of their harvest; for they supposed that great was the work
which they had undertaken.

These scriptures have a lot of application directly to missionary work
but they can apply to anything hard we have to do in our lives.
Heavenly Father asks us to do many things that stretch us and they can
seem impossible when we first consider them, but if we go to him for
comfort he will pick us up and reward us in the end. I'm working on
being patient in my affliction, and this week I have been taking a lot
of courage and doing a lot of work even when life was crazy. When we
stand with the lord and do what he wants us to, no one can stand
against us! (Who can name that subtle scripture reference?)

I love you all! Hope everyone is well. Party Hard, but not too hard.
Choose the Right. Be wise. Do it now. (Insert other motivational
advice here)
